EGG HARBOR TWP, NJ (GIS DATA CONVERSION) - Rodriguez Consulting, LLC worked as a subcontractor on a Egg Harbor Township Municipal Utilities Authority (EHTMUA) project that involved the creation of a seamless, digital, and intelligent map of the EHTMUA sewer system (i.e. pipes, manholes, etc.) and rapidly making this information available to staff via software tools that are easy to use.

Rodriguez was responsible for creating a sewer GIS database design based on a database design that Rodriguez developed for the Atlantic County Utilities Authority (ACUA), a regional authority that provides wastewater treatment for the EHTMUA.  The EHTMUA GIS incorporated the sewer assets maintained by the EHTMUA and was expanded to incorporate the assets maintained by ACUA.  The GIS database was populated via the migration of the EHTMUA’s GIS data to the new database design as well as the conversion of existing CAD drawings and various as-built drawings for recent real estate development projects to GIS.  The as-builts for the new development projects were scanned and linked to the resulting map features for easy retrieval.  The GIS data was adjusted spatially based on surveying data collected in the field with global positioning systems (GPS).  Sewer lines, manholes, and cleanouts were located in the field and the GIS data was adjusted spatially so that the features would display in their correct location within the street, right of way or easement when viewing in Google Earth or ArcGIS Explorer.
