ATLANTIC COUNTY, NJ (GIS DATA CONVERSION) - Rodriguez Consulting, LLC (Rodriguez) provided the Atlantic County Utilities Authority (ACUA) with GIS consulting services including: hydraulic model and GIS Migration, Google Earth consulting, and the Development of Spatial Data Standards. Upon completion of the project the ACUA staff was able to view their sewer data via a number of free and low-cost software products.

Rodriguez migrated SewerCAD hydraulic model data into a GIS database and spatially adjusted the sewer assets utilizing the State of New Jersey’s 2002 aerial photography and ACUA as-built drawings. Rodriguez was responsible for designing a sewer GIS database that incorporated the sewer assets maintained by ACUA as well as the assets maintained by local municipal utility authorities.  The GIS database was also designed for the future integration with the ACUA’s existing asset management systems.

Rodriguez also converted the ACUA sewer GIS data into a Google Earth (.kml) format to insure a rapid deployment of the mapping data via Google’s powerful and simple virtual globe application.    GIS/CAD standards were also developed to insure information submitted to the ACUA via local utilities and contractors can be easily incorporated into the GIS database in the future.
