Strawberry Mansion ADA Ramp Design

PHILADELPHIA, PA (ADA RAMP DESIGN) - Rodriguez Consulting LLC (Rodriguez), under contract with Pennoni Associates, provided civil engineering and land surveying services for the Strawberry Mansion Green Streets Project.  The purpose of these projects are to help the Philadelphia Water Department achieve its goals of reducing localized flooding, reducing combined sewer overflows, and improving water quality while also improving the quality of life of residents.  Rodriguez provided existing ADA ramp surveying and design services to ninety (90) ramps throughout an area where these PWD improvements were being done in order to further improve the neighborhood.

Rodriguez was responsible for providing civil engineering and site design services including but not limited:

  • Field Survey – Rodriguez performed detailed field surveys of the ramp locations in accordance to the PennDOT District 6-0 ADA Reference Guide.  This included obtaining location and elevation of curbs, traffic signals, signs, crosswalks, utilities, sidewalks, and anything else in the project area necessary for design.
  • ADA Ramp Design – Design of ramps was done in accordance with the PennDOT Publication 72 RC-67M standards dated June 1, 2010 and PennDOT publication 13M, last revised September 16th, 2009.  Designs were prepared in an AutoCAD environment.

  • 90 ramps surveyed and designed throughout the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood
